1 cup butter or oleo
1 cup veg. oil
1 cup white sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt

Beat all ingredients together. Refrigerate for several hours before baking. 
Roll teaspoons of dough into a ball. Dip in sugar and press down with a fork.

Bake at 350 for about 12 minutes
